What Is Hugh's Report?
Hugh's Report is a Government commissioned review into the mental health impact of serious childhood illness on parents, siblings and families.
When a child is diagnosed with a serious or life-limiting illness, the impact reaches far beyond the child themselves. Parents face sustained psychological distress. Siblings are affected. Families are changed forever. Hugh's Report exists to document that reality, give it the weight it deserves, and ensure it shapes the support families receive in future.
This review forms part of the wider Hugh's Law campaign and will provide the evidence base to drive lasting change.
When Is It Launching?
Hugh's Report has been commissioned by the DHSC and will conclude in March 202. The Secretary of State has confirmed that they will publish the findings within 3 months of the report concluding.
